I currently work (since 2020) at ValueCentric, an IQVIA Company as a Lead Software Engineer on their Specialty business unit development team. Our middle-tier is ColdFusion and our database is Oracle with a lot of PL/SQL. I work mostly in the PL/SQL layer optimizing current pathways and making new ones for the data we load on a daily basis. I've also had a heavy hand in creating some SDLC automation via GitLab Pipelines and help maintain a release tool created in Node.js. We even have a couple side processes that work in Bash scripts and PHP. From 2017 - 2020 I had a 3 year stint as a manager managing 10+ developers across several teams and from 2015-2017 I was a senior developer on the MedTech team doing very similar things to what I do now.
From 2012-2015 I was at Synacor working in their Professional Services group. We handled customization work between the customers and our white-label products. I was focused on backend/integrations work in the proprietary PHP framework (think Symfony) and some database scripting work via Perl.
From 2007-2012 I was a developer at Real-Info. For four out of the five years I was the only! It was my first job out of school and I learned a lot. Data was loaded for over 1k+ US counties each month into a MySQL database, which fed a membership site and their AVM products. I can't take credit for the modeling though, I followed the instructions of much smarter people! When we were called upon to run through a large number of properties I had a chance develop strong debugging and database optimization skills as the database administrator and I made some tweaks to get things at least 70% faster. I also spent time integrating third-party products for sale/use.
